Did you create a collection of dresses this spring and summer? I sure the heck and did...and yes I DID pair them with my leggings. All the while our poor skirts received no attention and are placed at the back of the closet waiting to see daylight again. Well you can tell them that momma is coming to the rescue. Unfortunately we may need to consider retiring the dresses. Sorry dresses :( you will make a future appearance. I promise.
Skirts are a must for the fall. The fall is calling out to our skirts that are at the knee length and shorter. All prints, shapes and colors. Which leads me back to?.....yes LEGGINGS!!! Keep those beauties out.
Let me give you a visual, you ready?
Short print skirt, casual top, fitted cardigan & leggings. Now you may ask, "what type of shoe?" Well girl you can continue your sandals, mules and if you want to get with it, put those boots on honey. And if you want to stray from the pack wear some peep toe short boots. Ahh.....I'm in visual heaven.
Real Quick. I am gonna give you the do's and dont's on leggings (courtesy of now public)
Do layer leggings under pieces that are long enough to cover your behind.
Don't wear leggings with short tops. Think of them as tights, not stretchy pants.
Do keep it simple: Black leggings are the most elegant, and they match everything.
Don't choose leggings in bright colors or wild patterns unless you're a teenager. Neutral shades are much more sophisticated and flattering.
Do choose a length that flatters. "Be sure to pick a pair that stops at the thinnest part of your calf," advises Misty Elliot, spokesperson for Spanx. "For most women, leggings look best in longer lengths."
Don't wear leggings that stop above the middle of the calf: This faux pas makes legs look shorter.
Next time ladies we will be talking about Jewelry. Off I go to gather my data and continue my research.
